The airport meeting has been rescheduled to October 15 at 1:00 pm at Burns City Hall. It’s not being held on Monday because it’s Columbus Day and City Hall will be closed.
Are you planning on making major improvements or renovations to your home? There are incentives available through the City of Burns URA that can reimburse you for some of those costs. If you would like to know more about the URA and how it works, or if you would like to get an application to the URA, please contact Burns City Hall and speak with the City Clerk Tiffany Leffler or the City Manager Judy Erwin.

FB: Burns Interagency Fire Zone:
Sorry for the slow post! Would you believe we are a skosh busy right now? WOWZA!
Here's what we have going on:
🔥SOLOMON FIRE - located in Solomon Canyon on south Steens Mountain. 250+ acres, burning in Wilderness Study Area. Resources on scene. Air Attack on scene and waiting on air support, but sunset/dark may prevent tanker response this evening.
🔥SAGEHEN FIRE - located 4 miles northeast of Sagehen Rest Area. 100+ acres. Engines and dozers working their way in, but access is rough, rocky, and miles from any roads. Many, many resources assigned.
Smaller incidents being prioritized and staffed as resources are available:
- 2 miles southeast of South Steens Campground
- 11 miles northwest of Drewsey (RFPA handled)
- 4 miles northwest of Burns in the Skull Creek Rd area (contained)
- 2 miles northwest of Bald Butte (contained)
We'll update with more information as it's available.
Holdover fires are likely tomorrow. Hang on!
