The City of Burns would like to apologize and make a correction to the sponsors of the 2024 Christmas Lighting Contest. Safeway had previously agreed to donate prizes to all three places, but today, they decided that they only wanted to sponsor the first place winner for $100.00. We appreciate their donation, but the City of Burns will be honoring what they have told the public and will be donating the remaining gift cards for the 2nd and 3rd place winners. Our community is very important to us, and we want to make sure we try and give back where we can. Also, OTEC has decided to add an additional $25 to the 2nd and 3rd places prizes! We are very grateful for their generosity! We look forward to going out and viewing all the contestants' houses tomorrow evening! We hope everyone has a very happy holiday season! :)

UPDATE: WATER IS BACK ON. Expect water interruptions for a short time from D Street to F street while they are fixing broken pipes. Please be careful and mindful as our crews are out there working to fix the issue. Thank you for your understanding.

The City of Burns received a suspicious call from someone saying they represented Coach Wagner and the football team. He was offering sponsorships for the back of the T-shirts that are to be given to the cheerleaders to hand out at games. He was asked to send some information on that and we were informed they would but we have not received anything yet.
To our Knowledge, Coach Wagner does not coach football and I football season is over so we believe this is not a legitimate program for our football team. We believe another scam appears to be underway and wanted to alert the citizens to this. Thank you.

UPDATE: WATER MAIN FIXED. Water main break at the intersection of Egan, Railroad, and Fillmore. Intersection will be closed. Expect water interruptions. Please be careful and mindful as our crews are out there working to fix the issue. Thank you for your understanding.

ASPHALT TAILINGS:
The City of Burns is excited to give away FREE asphalt tailings to interested parties! This material is leftover from road construction projects and is great for fill projects you might have!
This initiative is part of the City's efforts to reduce waste and promote sustainability by recycling materials that would otherwise be discarded.
There is a designated area, so interested parties should plan to have their own equipment for loading & hauling materials. Come to City Hall during regular business hours at 242 S Broadway or call 541-573-5255 for more information or to schedule a time to pick up these FREE asphalt tailings.
