The City of Burns would like to recognize the Burns Fire Chief Scott Williamson as well as the Burns Fire Department for all the hard work they have done over the last 3 years to acquire this new Type 3 Engine for the Burns Fire Department and the City of Burns. It was a grant that was acquired through the Oregon State Fire Marshal's Engine Program. This is a huge accomplishment and it will help them to keep our community even more safe than they already do. Awesome job Fire Chief Scott Williamson and Burns Fire Department! She's a beast!

PUBLIC NOTICE:
This Wednesday, June 4th, through June 7th , Portland State University will have staff going
door to door in Burns to complete an income survey that is necessary for the city to demonstrate
that we are a low income community. This is necessary because when the census was last
conducted in Burns, not enough residents responded. The census is important because this is
the way the government arrives at figures that are needed to distribute money to the cities for
projects which use revenue sharing through the state. Please be responsive to the staff from
Portland State so that we can achieve our goal of receiving a low interest loan from the state for
the upcoming water project.
Thank you,
Judy Erwin
City Manager
